The Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) decided to adopt remote activities this Tuesday after attacks carried out by militiamen against public transport in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. The two main fields of the university are in Seropédica and Nova Iguaçu, cities in Baixada Fluminense that are neighbors to the west zone of Rio.

“All University activities that can be carried out remotely must be done in this way, on an exceptional basis; Academic assessments scheduled for tomorrow [terça-feira ]must be rescheduled”, wrote the University’s Central Administration in a statement released yesterday.

Due to the students and professionals affected by the attacks, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) announced that all absences must be made up this Tuesday.

“In addition, second calls for student assessments that took place on 10/23 must be ensured for students residing in these areas,” said the university, which committed to drawing up a contingency plan.
