The most recent records of deaths in the war in Gaza amount to 5,700, among which there are more than 2,360 dead minors. Situation for which many parents in the Gaza Strip have made the decision to start writing their children’s names on their hands, and thus facilitate their identification if they die in the intense and indiscriminate Israeli bombings of the enclave.

A gesture that the children themselves have begun to replicate, some without even realizing what is happening. They are the ones who have been bearing the brunt of the war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas, which began with the Islamist group’s October 7 attack.

Just on the night of Monday to Tuesday, at least 130 people lost their lives, most of them women and children, due to Israeli air strikes in areas of the Strip, such as Jabalia and neighborhoods of Gaza City.

The south of the Strip, where it is estimated that more than a million people have moved from the north in search of safer areas, is also not spared from the bombings, which hit the Rafah and Khan Yunis areas daily.

Some entire families with minors and women in the southern part of the Strip have died in the last few hours and have not even been able to rest in peace, because the place where the bodies were taken could not be identified, so they do not have relatives who can bury them, so they were buried by some of the neighbors in the area.

Others have suffered a similar fate, for example, they have found children’s corpses with their names written on their hands and feet, marks that, it is presumed, would have been made by their relatives in order to guarantee their identification when they died. and thus be buried together, which in short, has happened.
