Every October 25, the Church remembers San Frutos, Santa Engracia and San Valentín, three brothers from Segovia (Spain), who lived as hermits between the 7th and 8th centuries, at a time when the Hispanic peninsula was under the rule of the Visigoths.

Frutos was born in the year 642, into a rich family that had two other children: Valentín and Engracia. Upon the death of his parents, Frutos decided to separate himself from the world and live in solitude, prayer and penance. As his brothers wanted to support him, they sold the family possessions and got rid of his wealth, distributing everything among the poor. Afterwards, the brothers moved together to the banks of the Duratón River, where they finally settled.
