Delfzijl, November 2, 2021 – Longfonds, a Dutch organization dedicated to supporting individuals with lung diseases, is organizing an information afternoon to educate patients about the benefits and possibilities of eHealth applications. Taking place on November 13th at the Kruiskerk in Delfzijl, the event aims to introduce long-disease patients to various eHealth tools and technologies that can improve their quality of life.
eHealth, the use of technology and the internet in healthcare, offers several advantages to patients with lung diseases. The event will be led by Esther Metting, an epidemiologist from the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) and Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (RUG), along with a team of healthcare professionals, students, and Longfonds employees. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops, smartphones, or tablets for an interactive and immersive experience with eHealth tools specifically designed for lung disease patients.
In the Netherlands alone, there are approximately one million individuals living with chronic lung diseases, such as asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and rare lung diseases.
