Traffic on line 10 of the Madrid Metro was interrupted this Thursday for more than two hours. It was in the section located between the Plaza de España and Casa de Campo stations and was due to the fall of a tree branch on the catenary of the tracks.

Specifically, traffic was paralyzed after 3:30 p.m. at the Plaza de España stations (with connection to lines 2 and 3), Príncipe Pío (6 and Ópera Branch), Lago, Batán and Casa de Campo (5). Metro sources explain that the cut was motivated by the fall of a branch that has broken off from a tree on the catenary between Batán and Lago, where this medium stops being suburban and travels on the surface.
The incident was resolved around 6:00 p.m., the service announced on social networks, and the union with Metrosur was reestablished.
The event took place in a week of numerous incidents in the suburban area. When the ravages of the rains of Thursday the 19th (the day with the highest rainfall in Madrid since records began) were still lasting, the showers on Sunday caused a cut on line 7 between Estadio Metropolitano and García Noblejas. The waters introduced sand from a construction site through a well in the Metro tunnel and flooded it, causing the service to be suspended for two days.
