Two women appeared as shoe and clothing peddlers to elderly people in order to enter their homes and steal money and jewelry, distracting them.
The Security Directorate of Ioannina, in collaboration with the Department of Criminal Investigations of the General Regional Police Directorate of Epirus, identified the details of one of the two women, against whom a criminal case was filed for aggravated theft, while the investigation of her accomplice continues .
The two women entered homes of the elderly, under the guise of selling clothing and footwear, with one occupying the elderly by demonstrating the products, giving the other the opportunity to investigate the premises of the houses. Using the specific method of action, it was determined that the accused was involved in two thefts, which took place on August 23 and September 15 in the city of Ioannina against two elderly women, where a large amount of jewelry and a sum of 3,100 euros were taken.
A European arrest warrant was pending
A European arrest warrant issued by the Italian authorities for a violation of drug laws was pending against a foreigner, as was found during a police check on Wednesday morning.
The internationally wanted foreigner was arrested by police officers from the Passport Control Department of Sayadas and the Filiaton Police Department.
