A high-ranking officer in the Israeli Army reported, this Friday (27), that he found the body of a decapitated baby in one of the kibbutzim attacked by the Hamas terrorist group on October 7th.
Colonel Golan Vach, head of the Israeli military search and rescue service, told AFP that he saw the body of a mother, who was protecting a baby, in kibbutz Beeri three days after the attack, according to Israeli authorities.
“When I stopped, I saw a decapitated baby. I lifted him up and put him in the body bag. I did it myself,” said the colonel, at a press point organized by the military in another kibbutz.
In the unprecedented attack on Israeli territory launched by Palestinian Islamists, 229 people were taken hostage when the militants attacked kibbutzim, villages and military bases, according to figures from Israeli authorities. Hamas denied that its fighters killed babies during the incursion.
“People ask me why I didn’t take a photo, and I say, ‘I’m sorry, I have children. I have limitations. I don’t take a photo of a decapitated baby,'” Vach explained in kibbutz Kfar Aza, which was also attacked by Hamas.
Accusations that children had been beheaded appeared in the Israeli press and were initially supported by Israeli authorities. Spokespeople later said that information could not be confirmed.
