Ederlan Mariano, husband of singer Sara Mariano, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, October 28th. His wife was found dead after missing for days, and he confessed to the murder.
Sara Mariano left home around 9:30 pm last Tuesday, October 24, to attend an event aimed at women in the city of Dias D’Ávila, a city neighboring Salvador (BA).
She even published a Stories on her Instagram account, where she had more than 50 thousand followers, saying that she was on her way and that a car was waiting to take her to the event.
However, a pastor friend of the singer went to the Dias D’Ávila police station and stated that there was no event aimed at women last Tuesday night in any church in the city, according to information from the portal G1.
The singer’s body was found yesterday, in a forested area on the banks of the BA-093 highway, close to Dias D’Ávila. Ederlan was called to recognize the body and stated that she was his wife, recognizing a ring and a sandal that belonged to Sara Mariano.
After being heard again by Civil Police investigators, he confessed to having murdered his wife. The corpse was partially charred, which indicates an attempt to make location and identification difficult.
According to the Civil Police, Ederlan Mariano is detained in the prison of the 25th Territorial Police Station (DT/Dias D’Ávila). The results of the examination carried out by the Technical Police Department (DPT) to confirm the identity of the corpse have not yet been released.
