Britney Spears’ former high school boyfriend, Donald “Reg” Jones, has come forward to express his disdain towards Justin Timberlake. In an exclusive interview with The Post, Jones did not mince his words when discussing Timberlake’s past relationship with Spears.
Jones referred to Timberlake as a “piece of s–t” after alleging that the singer had asked Spears to have an abortion when she became pregnant in the early 2000s. According to Spears’ new memoir, “The Woman in Me,” they proceeded with the abortion, highlighting the toxic nature of their relationship.
Amidst the bombshell allegations made by Spears, Timberlake has disabled comments on his Instagram profile, possibly to avoid further scrutiny. However, Jones had some straightforward advice for the “Cry Me a River” crooner and former “Mickey Mouse Club” star: “f–kin’ man up!”
Jones believes that Spears would be better off returning to her Southern roots, away from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. He reminisced about their own relationship, which took place from 1996 to 1998, before Spears began dating Timberlake. Jones revealed that Spears had expressed a desire for a normal life during their time together.
Expressing concern for Spears’ wellbeing, Jones also criticized her mother, Lynne Spears, claiming that she manipulated their relationship and controlled every aspect of her daughter’s life. Despite their breakup, Jones admitted that he still holds a torch for the pop star who he dated in high school.
Jones suggested that Spears should leave the past behind and return to Mississippi, where he would be there to support her emotionally. He believes that spending time with people who have known her for a long time could provide the support she needs. Jones emphasized the importance of returning to the values and integrity instilled by their upbringing in the South.
On a separate note, Jones made headlines in 2021 when he auctioned off a breakup letter from Spears. However, his focus remains on Spears’ well-being and happiness.
