Private Omni Bus Fares Reduced for Festive Season, Transport Minister Announces
CHENNAI: In a bid to provide affordable transportation options during the festive season, the fares of private Omni buses have been reduced, announced Transport Minister Sivashankar today. This decision comes after a successful discussion held between Minister Sivashankar and Omni bus owners.
Acknowledging the request made by the Tamil Nadu government, private Omni bus owners have agreed to lower their fares by 25 percent compared to last year. Additionally, an additional 5 percent reduction in fares has been decided for this year.
The revised fares for different routes are as follows:
– Chennai – Trichy: Minimum fare fixed at Rs.1,325 and maximum at Rs.1841
– Chennai – Nellai: Minimum fixed at Rs.1960 and maximum at Rs.3268
– Chennai – Salem: Minimum Rs.1363 and Maximum Rs.1895
– Chennai – Madurai: Minimum fixed at Rs.1688 and maximum at Rs.2554.
– Chennai – Nagersoil: Minimum fixed at Rs.2211 and maximum at Rs.3765.
– Chennai – Coimbatore: The minimum fare is Rs.1725 and the maximum is Rs.2874.
The reduction in fares aims to make travel more affordable for passengers during the festive season, encouraging more people to opt for Omni buses. These comfortable and convenient buses are a popular mode of transportation for long-distance travel within Tamil Nadu.
