The governor of Córdoba, Juan Schiaretti, and his counterpart from Santa Fe, Omar Perotti, signed this Sunday a loan for a total of 100 million dollars for the construction of two new blocks (B and C) of the Interprovincial Santa aqueduct work. Faith – Córdoba.

The contract was signed in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia, before the president of the Saudi Fund, Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad.

“Both provinces manage to continue with this strategic work, which will allow – in a first stage – to reach San Francisco with drinking water, benefiting more than 400 thousand inhabitants,” explained the Government of Córdoba.

“On the one hand, it means bringing the water of the Paraná River to our province; and on the other hand, it is the first loan that Saudi Arabia grants to our Argentina and it does so to two provinces like Córdoba and Santa Fe,” said Schiaretti.

And he added: “It is also important because not only the current authorities of the two provinces were present here, but also the elected authorities. And that institutional continuity is what generates trust, and is what allows us to obtain long-term loans, like this loan that is for 20 years, with a 5-year grace period and at a rate of 2 percent.”

With the signing of today’s contract with the Saudi Fund, 4 of the 8 blocks into which the first stage of the interprovincial aqueduct work was divided, already have international financing.

Schiaretti was accompanied by the Minister of Public Services, Fabián López and of Public Works, Ricardo Sosa. The Secretary of Economy and Finance of the municipality of the city of Córdoba, Guillermo Acosta, also participated. The elected vice-governor of the province of Santa Fe, Gisela Scaglia, and the Argentine ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Guillermo Nielsen, also participated.
