Singer Sara Mariano was found dead next to a road in the city of Dias D’Ávila (BA), metropolitan region of Salvador. She had been missing since last Tuesday night, October 24th.
Sara Mariano, who had more than 50 thousand followers on social media, was on the rise in her career, especially in the Northeast. Last Tuesday, she left home at around 9:27 pm to participate in a women’s meeting.
Since her disappearance, Ederlan Mariano, her husband, gave a statement stating that he was not sure about his wife’s exact destination, but based on conversations with her before she left, the event would be in one of two cities, Camaçari or Dias D’Ávila.
The second city mentioned by her husband was the place where the singer’s body was found, charred. The Legal Medical Institute (IML) removed the corpse after the Technical Police Department carried out an examination at the scene, as well as identifying Sara Mariano.
In a statement, the Technical Police Department reported that the body “was recognized by the husband of Sara de Freitas Sousa Mariano, aged 35, as hers”.
The singer’s sister, Soraya Correia, mourned the loss through social media with two messages: “I mourn for my sister” and “why, my God, she was so beautiful, she loved her daughter so much”.
The Civil Police are investigating the case, but there are still no further details about those responsible for the crime or the motivation for the murder, according to information from the Northeast Diary.
