You shouldn’t have been on a train this Sunday. Significant delays are to be deplored on the TGV Sud-Est line. At 7 p.m. this Sunday at Lyon station, a train from Perpignan was 4.5 hours late. Others, coming from Marseille, Grenoble, Lyon, Annecy or Saint-Étienne showed delays ranging from 30 minutes to more than two hours.

Several delays were also to be deplored when departing from Gare de Lyon, in Paris. Thus, the TGV towards Toulon, which was to leave at 6:10 p.m., was shown more than two hours late. Other trains heading to Lyon, Dijon or Mulhouse were also affected by delays.

“Count on delays of between 45 minutes and 3:30 hours for your TGV INOUI and OUIGO traveling between Mâcon Loché and Lyon,” detailed the SNCF on its “Traffic information” page.

” Take your time “

“If you have a train from Lyon station, take your time,” said an SNCF user ironically at midday ondisplaying the photo of a table of train departures towards Marseille, Saint-Etienne or even Lyon, all showing more than an hour late.

Traffic has been disrupted since 9:30 a.m. in the area, when a tree fell on the catenaries of the South-East high-speed line between Mâcon and Lyon, reports SNCF on a dedicated page. A logging operation was launched by SNCF agents at midday, while trains were diverted, causing delays.

The fallen tree was finally cleared from the tracks shortly after 1 p.m. But disruptions remained to be expected “until the end of the day”, warned the SNCF.
