Line 1 of the Cablebús presented a failure during the morning of this Sunday, as a result of which passengers traveling in the capital’s transportation system, which connects Cuautepec with Indios Verdes, were trapped in the heights, while others stayed in the stations at waiting for service.
Semovi sources consulted by El Financiero explained that the failure began at 9:07 a.m. this Sunday, and the cause of the failure is not yet known.
To mobilize the people who are inside the cabins stuck at heights, the emergency engines were started, while the technical teams will look for the causes of the failure.
Cablebús Line 1 was sectioned into two parts to facilitate the rescue of users, while on social networks the affected people have expressed their dissatisfaction with the failure that has delayed their transfers.
The service resumed at 09:47 this Sunday.
How often do they check the Cablebús lines?
Last August, the Ministry of Mobility (Semovi) and the Electric Transport Service (STE) of Mexico City reported that it successfully carried out the Second Annual Review of Lines 1 and 2 of the Cablebús system.

During the review period, from July 24 to August 6, of Line 2 that goes from Constitución de 1917 to Santa Marta, six meters of cable were shortened due to natural elongation, deep cleaning in 305 cabins and in all the stations, as well as inspection of security elements in towers and stations; Additionally, the annual TÜV SÜD verification was carried out.
