INFO LE FIGARO. From June 18 to September 29, 2024, the artist will present his work Silk Room, a monumental embroidery creation measuring 350 m2 and 105 meters long.

How can we revive the taste for tapestry in its most contemporary form in the heart of a royal castle which had so many of them, as majestic as they are historical? From June 18 to September 29, 2024, the Palace of Versailles will invite French artist Eva Jospin to present her work Silk Room during the exhibition “Eva Jospin–Versailles” in the castle’s orangery. Monumental embroidery creation of 350 m2 and 105 meters long, Silk Room, was presented for the first time in July 2021 for the Dior Haute Couture fashion shows at the Rodin Museum. This spectacular set of embroideries, a sort of enchanted return to the history of art, will this time open “a unique dialogue with the imposing architecture of the orangery and will invite the visitor to wander”.

This monumental embroidery will extend over an entire wall of the orangery, without stopping. The Versailles orangery is the only one of its scale and pedigree to accommodate 1,500 trees…
