The report concerning the level of implementation of the recommendations of the 12th Diplomatic Conference was presented at the 117th meeting of the Council of Ministers, held on Friday October 27, 2023, by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Security. Francophonie, Christophe Lutundula.

According to his statements, this report demonstrates satisfaction with the level of implementation of the recommendations emanating from the 12th Diplomatic Conference, which took place from February 26 to 28, 2022.

“He recalled that at the end of the work, these recommendations numbered 89. However, after a review, harmonization and monitoring by an ad-hoc committee, they were reduced to 54, of which 29 were retained in this execution and monitoring report because of their importance for the areas to which they relate and their impact on the foreign policy of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Whether from an administrative and financial, diplomatic, international cooperation, Francophonie, or strategic point of view, the progress made has been significant,” specifies the report of the meeting read by Patrick Muyaya, Porte – government spokesperson.

In the same context, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and La Francophonie presented the updated list of the real estate assets of the Congolese State abroad.

“This list includes 76 buildings in a state of disrepair and 7 which were acquired by reciprocity,” details the minutes of the meeting.

The previous year, the Democratic Republic of Congo organized the 12th Diplomatic Conference since its accession to national sovereignty. The aim of these meetings was to hear the directions of the Head of State and to define the country’s priorities in terms of investments and partnerships, so that diplomats can carry this vision abroad.

It was a place for meetings between diplomats and discussions with the President of the Republic. According to Christophe Lutundula, “diplomacy only has value depending on the economic, financial, cultural and social power of the country on the international scene”.
