Sixty people suspected of having stormed an airport in Dagestan, a region of Russia, were arrested and nine police officers were injured during these clashes, Russian authorities said on Monday. “More than 150 active participants in the unrest have been identified, sixty of them have been arrested,” the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry said in a statement, specifying that two injured police officers had been hospitalized.
Dozens of men stormed the tarmac and terminal of the airport in Makhachkala, capital of the predominantly Muslim Russian republic of Dagestan, for several hours on Sunday, apparently looking for passengers on a flight from ‘Israel.
