San Salvador. The play Big Flamingo, brought to the stage by the Mexican company Nuna Teatro Contemporáneo, closes the VI Hispanosalvadoreño Theater Festival, with two performances, on Saturday the 28th, at 6:00 pm, and on Sunday the 29th, at 5:00 pm , at the National Theater of San Salvador.

This comedy with paranormal and absurd situations, written by Salvadoran Napoleón Alfaro, tells the story of two brothers who meet again at the Big Flamingo hotel, where their father died, where they hire the medium Scarlet to make contact. None of the three are prepared for what they may discover.

The play is directed by Faviola Llamas, with performances by Lorena de La Parra, Enrique Suarez Olmos and Alejandra Zapata. The lighting design is by Gustavo Beltrán and the executive production by Nareni Gamboa. This work premiered its first season under the production of SHKSPR&Cía, within the Motel Stories Series for Dramaturgias de Paso 2023, and now arrives, for the first time, in El Salvador within the framework of the festival.

Big Flamingo is one of the four shows that the public has been able to enjoy this year at the VI Festival, in addition to Room 406, by Teatro Irreal El Salvador; Mango cake or your collapsed name, from El Desconcimiento Teatral; and My father was not a famous Russian writer, by the Spanish Bárbara Bañuelos.

The Festival also included four training workshops that have been developed on theater criticism, clowning, puppets and the Spectator School, which has sought to generate meeting spaces between theater artists and the public.

The Festival is held within the framework of the programs of the Cultural Center of Spain in El Salvador, as part of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), which aim to contribute to development by supporting artistic creation local and contribute to access to culture as a human right.

It has had the support of the Ministry of Culture of El Salvador, which has allowed the works to be seen in the national theaters of San Salvador and Santa Ana.
