After the overwhelming results of the first donation days, the relief community Wachtendonk, Wankum and the surrounding area is calling for the 3rd donation day.

The aid community is asking the public for donations to help people in Ukraine cope with the upcoming winter. In particular, we are looking for everything for the household (pots, pans, dishes), bed linen, blankets, towels, winter clothing and shoes for adults and children, toys and school bags, fabric and wool. Donations can be made on Sunday, November 12th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Wankumer Dorfstube, Martinsplatz 4, Wachtendonk-Wankum.

“The response is already astonishing. A few days after the call, five table sewing machines have already been handed in. “A women’s group gets it and sews bandages and bed linen for wounded soldiers in the front hospitals,” says Hans Druyen from the Wachtendonk, Wankum and Surrounding Area Aid Community.

The donations will then be transported to Chelm on the Polish-Ukrainian border on Tuesday, November 24th and from there to Kamyenets in Ukraine. They will get there in time for Christmas and help the people in need. This also requires monetary donations to finance the transport from Chelm to Kamyenets. The account details can be obtained from Hans Druyen on 02836 93167.
