The AES price established at the 34th Tour du Faso
Tenkodogo, October 31, 2023 (AIB) – the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) prize was established on the 34th International Tour of Faso to encourage riders from the three member countries of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, we observed on the roads of the competition.
This AES prize was established at the 2nd Nioryida-Ziniaré stage because “when you look at the pace of the two countries in the round (Mali, Niger), they do not have the chance to have a stage”, explained the Director General (DG) of the national fund for the promotion of sport and leisure Karim Souabo.
“We must therefore encourage them for their effort by coming to Burkina Faso,” added the CEO of the FNPSL. He reassures that this price will be given during the other 9 stages.
The first in each country receives an envelope of 100,000 FCFA at each stage. This is the fund that sponsors the green jersey for the 34th edition of the Tour du Faso.
According to the CEO of the fund “in all three countries we are waging the same fight. We have the same problems. Terrorism has been rampant since 2013 in Mali, Burkina and Niger. We have a common border that separates the three countries.”
The three countries signed a defense agreement establishing an Alliance of Sahel States last September.
