Two years since the founding of the ‘Securityists’ movement, headed by senior reservists and retired officers, who work to influence public discourse and the decision-makers’ ranks, through the thousands of volunteers who have taken part in key positions in the defense establishment. Against the background of the “birthday” celebrations, the movement announces today (Tuesday) that the former navy commander, Maj. Gen. Eli Marom, has joined its ranks.

Merom, who served as Commander of the Navy from 2007-2011 and served nearly 40 years in the Navy. Marom, who also served as Singapore’s military attaché and in recent years has served as chairman of the Airports Authority Council, joins the thousands of commanders taking part in the movement’s ongoing activities to harness the younger generation and shape security policy among the defense establishment.

The director general of the Security Movement, Brigadier General Amir Avivi: “Major General Eli Marom, to the ranks of the movement. Marom will add another layer of deep and significant understanding in one of the challenging arenas in which the State of Israel operates overnight.”
