The Municipal Emergency Operations Center (COEM) has also been activated to promptly respond to situations that may be caused by the weather phenomenon in the capital city.

Some of the conditioned spaces are the communal houses of the communities of 6 May, Isidro Menendez, Asuncion, Las Palmas, La Pedrera, 10 October, Quiñónez 2, Granjero 1 and 2, San Luis Portales 1, Peralta and 4 May. Also the Katya Miranda and Jorge “Chapupo” Rodriguez Sports Complexes, as well as the Women’s House in the San Jacinto Neighborhood.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Civil Protection teams began preventive monitoring in vulnerable areas where Early Warning System (SAT) traffic lights have been signaled, to measure the flow of rivers and streams.

The mayor’s office will continue to work hand in hand with the 200 Community Commissions that it equipped in advance and which are the direct links to update information; The Corps of Metropolitan Agents (CAM) will maintain the protection of shelters, provide assistance in vulnerable communities and direct traffic if flooding is recorded in residential areas and on main streets in the coming hours.
