DIG/ The Société d’Exploitation du Transgabonais (SETRAG) officially launched, on Monday October 23, 2023 in the premises of the Setrag Medical Center, the 10th awareness campaign against female cancers on the theme: “One screening = one life saved”.
During these four days, the awareness raising teams will mobilize the general public, more specifically women, on female cancers and how to fight against them.
“Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that develops in the mammary gland through a lump inside the breast.
To combat it, it must first be detected earlier by palpating the breasts at the end of each cycle in women. If the lump is felt, it would be very important to have the left and right breast examined.
As for the examination of the cervix, it consists of observing a physical anomaly which leads to a report to a gynecologist who will determine the course of action for better management of the disease.explained Olga Mbadinga, midwife at the Setrag Medical Center and coordinator of this campaign.
The Commercial Director of Setrag, Ginette Lalet, encouraged the fairer sex of Owendo to get tested.
She took the opportunity to thank the First Lady, Zita Oligui Nguema, for his encouragement and his multiple actions in the fight against this terrible disease.
