Adif proposes to the Langreo City Council the transfer of a walkway

The forty-meter footbridge flies over the Nalón Corridor road, linking the Sama-Los Llerones school and sports area with the neighborhoods of Les Pieces and El Ponticu, providing continuous service to the railway station and the residents of the municipality that connects it. used beyond the hours of a railway facility.

The expansion of the service of this type of infrastructure has motivated the transfer in other municipalities along the metric gauge network of Asturias, as is the case of the La Argaosa metal walkway, built in the area of ​​the Green Belt of Oviedo, recently transferred to its City Council for its management and maintenance.

Underground works progress

Regarding the undergrounding of the railway in Langreo and its associated stations, currently, all projects are in execution or contracted; a situation that makes the end of the works foreseeable at the end of 2024. In the urban integration works of the railway in Sama and Felguera, Adif is entrusted with the execution of the railway superstructure, as well as the actions to put the new route into operation, included in the 752 Laviana-Gijn-Sanz Crespo metric gauge line.

This investment, which exceeds 47 million euros, includes several actions, all of them in execution. The last of the projects, the complementary works of the Langreo tunnel, which include the installation of acoustic screens, among other works, has already been awarded and will be launched soon.
Likewise, the actions in the facilities and in the field of architecture for the commissioning of the Sama-Los Llerones and Nuevo Langreo stations have already been contracted.

Promotion of the Asturias Cercanas Plan

Adif is also advancing in the modernization of the metric gauge network, planned in the Asturias Cercanías Plan. Among the actions, in June, Adif tendered a contract of 12.5 million euros to modernize the signaling of the Trubia-Oviedo section of the C7 Gijn-San Esteban de Pravia line. Added to these works are other signaling improvement projects on a 51 kilometer stretch between Gijn and Pravia, with an investment of 25 million euros.

Another of the great milestones of the Cercanas Plan is the comprehensive renovation of the 49 kilometer Gijn-Laviana line, with an investment of 50 million euros, completed in the El Berrn-Laviana section, while progress is made between El Berrn and Gijn. Likewise, projects such as the integration of Langreo and the renewal of the 42.1 kilometer Colloto-Infiesto line are underway. In addition, work is being done on the drafting of the project for the new Gijn intermodal station and the renewal and expansion of the Pola de Lena station was recently put out to tender.
