by time news

Reality TV star Shannon Beador addressed her DUI hit-and-run incident during her appearance at BravoCon 2023, expressing gratitude that no one was hurt. The Real Housewives of Orange County star avoided jail time and instead received three years of probation and a mandatory nine-month alcohol treatment program for her September incident in Newport Beach.

During her speech at BravoCon, Beador admitted to making a “terrible mistake” and stated that she has completed 28 days of behavioral wellness counseling with an alcohol specialist. She also revealed that she is focusing on eliminating unhealthy and toxic elements from her life and moving in a positive direction.

Despite her legal troubles, Beador attended BravoCon in Las Vegas and reportedly stayed sober throughout the event. She even shared photos on social media with her co-stars Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson.

In her DUI hit-and-run case, Beador faced a sentence of 30 days in jail, but a California judge settled on three years of probation instead. She also has to complete 40 hours of community service and a nine-month alcohol program. Beador entered a plea of no contest to one count of DUI and one count of driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or more. The charge of hit-and-run with property damage was dismissed.

According to a source close to Beador, she is relieved to avoid jail time and is grateful for the opportunity to have a better life. She is reportedly doing well and staying sober.

Beador was arrested in September after crashing her car into a home in Newport Beach. Surveillance footage showed her speeding through a residential area before colliding with the side of a house. She suffered injuries including a fractured wrist, cuts, and bruising. Beador has since paid for the property damage caused by the incident.

Her lawyer expressed her remorse and stated that she would accept full responsibility for her actions. The judge acknowledged that Beador had made restitution to the homeowner and admitted her wrongdoing. The sentence of probation, community service, and alcohol classes was deemed appropriate.

Beador expressed gratitude that no one else was injured in the incident and acknowledged that driving impaired is a mistake she has learned from. She is currently focusing on her health and personal well-being.

In addition to her legal troubles, Beador experienced a breakup with her boyfriend, John Janssen, last year. They had been dating for nearly four years. Beador went public with their split in January after filming for season 17 of RHOC had wrapped. She has three children from her previous marriage to David Beador.

Despite her challenges, Beador’s appearance at BravoCon showcased her determination to move forward positively and learn from her mistakes.
