Marc Elsberg opens Hamburg crime festival

Hamburg – The Austrian bestselling author Marc Elsberg (56, “Blackout”) is opening the 16th Hamburg Crime Festival this year. Accompanied by the Hamburg singer Stefan Gwildis, Elsberg will present his novel “°C – Celsius”, the organizers announced.

In the climate thriller, the author deals with global warming and the associated geoengineering, i.e. methods and technologies to influence the climate. The novel is also a political thriller and describes a climate war, initially within the major economies (USA, EU, China, Russia), and ultimately between north and south. Elsberg became known for the thriller “Blackout,” in which he creates the scenario of a widespread collapse of the power supply and its consequences.

International crime stars

A total of more than 30 authors from Great Britain, Sweden, Norway, Italy, Austria and Germany will present their current suspense novels at the Kulturfabrik Kampnagel from November 7th to 11th. The Danish bestselling author Katrine Engberg will be there with her new crime novel “Glutspur”, and the Charité forensic doctor Michael Tsokos will be presenting his new thriller series “With Cold Precision”. Actor Bjarne Mädel reads with author Sven Stricker from his crime novel “Sörensen sees Land”.

Bestselling author Sebastian Fitzek presents his new psychological thriller “The Invitation”. With the novel, Fitzek once again proves “his masterful ability to explore the darkest corners of the human mind and create incomparable tension,” it was said.

The Italian author Gianrico Carofiglio reads from his current thriller “Groll”. Swedish author Karin Smirnoff continues Stieg Larsson’s Millennium saga. In “Verderben” investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist and hacker Lisbeth Salander meet again after years.
