Hundreds of refugees and immigrants are stranded on our island, living in parks, squares, makeshift tents when bad weather is expected.
For years they have supported the policy that traps refugees and immigrants on the islands. Who wants the prison islands of the European Union. Now that the consequences of this policy have touched Rhodes as well, the local rulers have thrown it in the towel, throwing the ball of blame at each other.
Humane places of temporary accommodation should now be made available and documents should be immediately given to them to leave for their real destination.
