A 30-year-old Jewish woman was stabbed at the door of her own home this Saturday, 4th, in the city of Lyon, in France. In her statement to the police, she said that a man rang the doorbell and, as soon as she answered the door, the attacker stabbed her twice. According to her, his face was partially covered and he was wearing dark clothing. He fled shortly after the crime and has not been found to date. Upon arriving at the scene, the police found a swastika graffiti on the door, which they considered a crime of anti-Semitism. The mayor of Lyon, Gregory Doucet, showed solidarity with the young woman through social media. “A Jewish woman was stabbed this Saturday. An anti-Semitic symbol was found on the door of her home. The increase in this violence is inexplicable. All my support for the victim and her family,” she said. Since the beginning of war between Israel and Hamas On October 7th, French police have received reports of anti-Semitism and Islamophobia across the country. Last Tuesday, 31st, stores and buildings in four neighborhoods of Paris, the country’s capital, dawned with stars of David painted on the facades, in blue. This gesture was used by the Nazis in the 1930s as a way of distilling anti-Semitism.
