Rohit was appointed captain after the goalie stepped down as T20 and one-day captain. Following the recent South Africa Test series, Goalie announced his resignation as captain of the Test team, with Rohit reportedly the next Test captain for India.
Rohit, who did not play in the South Africa series due to injury, is training at the Cricket Academy in Bangalore, India.
A BCCI official has said that Rohit is currently recovering from injury and will play in the series against the West Indies next February.
The West Indies will travel to India, where they will play the first three ODIs and the three-match T20 series in February.
