The Government of El Salvador reported that tomorrow the opportunity to obtain or renew the Single Identity Document (DUI) for Salvadorans abroad ends.

The Press Secretariat stated that it is not necessary to make an appointment at any of the consulates or embassies, be over 18 years of age, pay $35 or the equivalent in local currency, present an original birth certificate (for this procedure it is free).

He added that if the DUI has an address abroad, they will be able to vote online starting January 6. If you have an address in El Salvador, you will be able to vote in person at consulates, embassies and voting centers enabled on February 4.

“It is a quick process and you will have your birth certificate for free. It is not necessary to make an appointment at any consulate for any of these procedures. Also the consulates in the United States and some other countries will work this weekend with extended hours, from 7 am to 10 pm,” reported the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele.
