Geraldine Ponce, mayor of Tepic, Nayaritannounced yesterday his registration in Morena’s internal process to seek a seat in the Senate of the Republic for that entity in the 2024 elections.
“I am sure that, hand in hand with our friend Claudia Sheinbaum and from the Senate of the Republic, we are going to consolidate the transformation in Nayarit and throughout Mexico,” she said on social networks; along with a photograph with the registration certificate.

However, he will not yet request a license to leave office as head of the entity’s capital.
“I share with you with great joy and hope that I have signed up for Morena’s internal process for the selection of senator for my state,” highlighted the Nayarit mayor.
The 29-year-old Morenista boasted that as a federal deputy, from 2018 to 2021, and with the support of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, she promoted projects to consolidate the transformation.

As mayor, she added, she has completed “the cleanup of our Mololoa River; the construction of Paseo Tepic Río, the City of Indigenous Arts and the new Plaza del Músico; the rehabilitation of Avenida Insurgentes and, very soon, the vehicular bridge over the train tracks through Colosio and Guadalajara”, as part of her work and political career.
It should be noted that from July to August of this year, Ponce left his position to support the campaign of the former head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, in the internal process of Morena, where she was the winner as presidential candidate of the Fourth Transformation.
