Olam Rubber: Return to work after 1 month of strike

DIG/ ON strike since October 5, 2023, Olam Rubber agents at the Batouri site in Bitam decided on Saturday October 28, 2023, to return to work from Monday October 30, 2023.

A decision which results from the working session that the worker representatives had, with their employer, in the presence of the chief executive officer (CEO) of Olam, Darshan Raiyani, and the administrative authorities of the province of Woleu-Ntem, including Governor Jules Djéki, the prefect of Ntem, Alfred Ogoula and the provincial director of Labor, Rufin Moudounga.

The employees filed with their employer, around fifteen points of demand aimed at improving their working conditions: minimum monthly income; the establishment of a CNAMGS pharmacy; the career plan; school transportation; the contribution to the CNSS; payment of rights of deceased workers; payment of various bonuses; teachers’ leave; the departure of certain administration officials, etc.

At the end of this meeting, all parties agreed to establish a timetable for negotiations from October 29 to December 4, 2023 (date selected for the start of negotiations of the company agreement).
