This Sunday, the head of North American diplomacy, Antony Blinken, made a surprise visit to the West Bank, where he met with the President of the Palestinian Authority. Mahmoud Abbas denounced “a war of genocide” by Israel against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and called for an immediate ceasefire. Blinken called for an end to “extremist violence” against Palestinians in the West Bank and warned against the “forced displacement” of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
