Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has said that the state is facing the third wave of Kovid. Unlike waves one and two, the extreme wave occurred at the very beginning of the third wave. Kovid cases are on the rise due to the Delta and Omicron variants. Kovid must confront extremism politically and partisanly. The health department had issued a warning at each stage. Delta and Omicron variants are responsible for the spread of the disease in the state. The propaganda that the Omicron variant is trivial is false. Caution should be exercised against omicron. Do not count on it coming. It has five or six times more expansion capacity than the Delta. The drug shortage in the state is a false propaganda. The minister also said that monoclonal antibody treatment was not effective for omicron.
