San Salvador. The legislative plenary session approved this Wednesday, November 1, a Transitory Tax Amnesty Law, whose validity will expire on December 8.
In this way, more than 25,800 taxpayers will be able to benefit, without penalties or interest, from their pending payments with the Ministry of Finance, explained deputies from the various factions that supported the transitional decree.

Among the beneficiary taxpayers there are citizens who have criminal proceedings in various administrative or judicial instances, but who do not have final sentences regarding their debts, the legislators said.
But they warned that, in these cases, taxpayers must pay a premium equivalent to 25% of their debt, and not the 10% that applies to those who are not prosecuted.
The deputy of the Cian Caucus, William Soriano, explained that “this decree is quite important because it allows the population to fulfill their tax responsibilities with the Treasury.”
According to the approved decree, up to a maximum of nine monthly installments will be granted, but interested taxpayers must apply no later than December 8, the legislators reiterated.
