After a two-week break, Vidux-Szeged RSE returned to the field, hosting Dág in the Újszeged sports hall.
After a twisty game, we reached the fourth set with a 2:1 lead in Szeged, but Szeged could not close the match here, the visitors’ two-point lead was erased several times, but Dágé won the set, so in the sixth match of the season, it was already the fifth the fifth, all-deciding set could come.
This time, the Tisza-parti guard came out well, as they gained a three-point lead early on and kept it after the change of half. At 14-7, the guests still improved, but Pozzobon ended the match, so SZRSE won its fourth victory in a five-set battle. As for the continuation, on Saturday, Dániel Csányi will be the guests of the leading, so far unbeaten Dunaújváros in the next round.
Zoltán Berkes: – We collected a huge scalp today against Dág, as it is a very strong and unpleasant volleyball team. It is no coincidence that they regularly surprise even serious extraliga teams with a long history. It’s deceptive, because it might have seemed that it was easy to score points against them, or that we could have decided the match earlier, but we had to work really hard for the points. And Dág did not give in easily at all. The victory is even more appreciated in the light of the fact that we have been plagued by injuries and illnesses in the last two weeks, but we are able to recover from this and we won a very important victory, for which a huge congratulations to the guys!
