I know very well that this match will be difficult from this point of view (editor’s note: from the reception of the public). I played six years here, I won my first trophies there and I know how to cope. It’s special to come back here as a PSG player but I’m doing the best I can. We will have to be focused and do what we know how to do. If we do this, the result will be good.
A difficult reception is announced for Donnarumma. What state of mind is he in?
Since the beginning of our trip, I haven’t felt Gigio concerned about returning here. He is one of the greatest goalkeepers in the world, he will be focused on doing the best for the team.
Milan is in difficulty, is this the best time for Paris to make the difference in this group?
It will be a special, difficult match, different from the first leg. Milan may be struggling a bit but it’s sometimes in these moments that some teams find strength. This is what I expect with the quality players at Milan. But we want the three points to stay at the top of the group.
Can the meeting in Milan be the benchmark away match?
It would be perfect if that were the case. We have good results, we want to give continuity to our recent performances. We can do better, but we have the qualities to continue with what we did during our last outings.
How do you feel about the empowering style of play that Luis Enrique wants?
I like the style of play advocated by the coach, the fact of having possession, of pressing high, of recovering the balls as we do. You have to be careful behind. But we all improve individually and as a team as the matches go on.
Who will have the most pressure between Milan and Paris?
Hard to say. They need points and we want to win. We will try to play our football and do what we know how to do.
How do you feel about your association with Marquinhos?
I can speak for myself, I like playing with Marqui. We can improve but in reality, it is not important who plays with whom. What is important is to make PSG win. With a balanced team and strong players that we have, the coach has a choice. But with Marqui I have felt very good since the first day. When I arrived, I didn’t speak French, but he spoke Italian, which helped me a lot to integrate.
You spent six years here. Have you had your former Inter teammates talk to you about today’s Milan?
Yes I have them often, we have kept in touch. But not to talk about Milan’s difficulties, even if for Inter players it’s always good to see the rival club lose a match.
