Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Turkey Technology Team (T3 Foundation), said that they aim to hold Teknofest in Northern Cyprus as soon as possible.

“Bilim Nicosia” was opened in Arabahmet.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Science Nicosia, Selçuk Bayraktar pointed out that more than 1 million participants applied to Teknofest held in Turkey this year, and expressed his belief that young people can change the world with technology and science and direct the development of the world.

The opening ceremony of Bilim Lefkoşa, located in the Arabahmet District within the city walls of Nicosia; President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Republic of Turkey Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, TR Ambassador to Nicosia Metin Feyzioğlu, Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu, Turkey Technology Team (T3 Foundation) Chairman of the Board of Trustees Selçuk Bayraktar, Cyprus Science and Intelligence Foundation Trustees Head of the Delegation Mustafa Tümer, BSEC Office Coordinator Ömer Cihan, YÖDAK President Turgay Avcı, other senior officials and young people attended.

“Science Nicosia” was opened in cooperation with the Cyprus Foundations Administration, the Ministry of National Education and Istanbul Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus, with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey, the Embassy of the Republic of Nicosia, the BSEC Office of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkey Technology Team (T3 Foundation).

At the opening ceremony, respectively; Cyprus Science and Intelligence Foundation Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mustafa Tümer, Turkish Technology Team (T3 Foundation) Chairman of the Board of Trustees Selçuk Bayraktar, Republic of Turkey Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak and President Ersin Tatar made speeches.

After their speeches, gifts were presented to Osman Aşkın Bak, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey, and Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Turkish Technology Team (T3 Foundation).

“It will open the horizons of young people”

In his speech at the opening, Mustafa Tümer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Cyprus Science and Intelligence Foundation, pointed out that the TRNC is experiencing one of its historical days today, and thanked everyone who contributed to the opening of “Science Nicosia” as the Cyprus Science and Intelligence Foundation.

Pointing out the importance of the contributions of the T3 Foundation, Tümer said that Bilim Nicosia’s 6 science workshops and test-and-do workshops would not have been able to be opened if the T3 Foundation did not provide the opportunity.

Providing information about the workshops, Tümer noted that all workshops will contribute to young people individually and broaden their horizons.

“Young people will change the world with technology and science”

Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Turkey Technology Team (T3 Foundation), said that the opening of the Nicosia Science workshop was held with great excitement and pride.

Referring to the contributions of “Bilim Nicosia”, which was established with the cooperation of the Cyprus Science and Intelligence Foundation and the Ministry of National Education, to TRNC young people in the field of science and technology, Bayraktar noted that they aim to train scientists in Science Nicosia.

Pointing out that more than 1 million participants applied to Teknofest held in Turkey this year, Bayraktar expressed his belief that young people can change the world with technology and science and that they will direct the development of the world.

Bayraktar pointed out that Bilim Nicosia will provide training in a wide range of fields, including mathematics workshops, astronomy, space and aviation workshops, design workshops, agriculture workshops, natural sciences workshops and entrepreneurship workshops, and explained that young people will have fun and learn in these workshops.

Bayraktar pointed out that technology is important not only for achieving technological achievements but also for supporting justice, goodness and mercy, and also pointed out the importance of using science and technology to relieve people’s suffering.

Selçuk Bayraktar pointed out that the greatest tragedy in human history was happening right next to them in Gaza, and noted that their attitude revealed how racist the West was.

Bayraktar stated that they aim to hold Teknofest in TRNC as soon as possible.

At the beginning of his speech, the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey, Osman Aşkın Bak, conveyed the greetings of the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Drawing attention to the importance and value that President Erdoğan attaches to science and technology, Bak emphasized that science is an important power.

Pointing out that there was a lot of participation in Tekofest held in Turkey, Minister Bak noted that Bilim Lefkoşa opened an important door for young people from TRNC to develop their vision.

Expressing his belief that TRNC young people will make a significant contribution to the future of the country by kneading them with science and technology, Minister Bak said, “a strong youth is coming.”

Drawing attention to the investments made in Turkey’s national technology and the developments in the defense industry in the last 21 years, Bak pointed out that these developments provided Turkey with a significant power.

Condemning the brutality in Gaza, Minister Bak emphasized that merely condemning the brutality is not enough, a voice must also be raised.

Bak gave information about the work to be done with Bilim Lefkoşa and said, “This door has been opened, there are many opportunities for young people at this door. “Young people are coming to show that the world is bigger than 5,” he said.

“No one can block the path of our young people, they deserve everything.”

In his speech, President Ersin Tatar pointed out the importance of today and drew attention to Turkey’s achievements in the field of technology.

Calling “from North Nicosia to the South”, President Tatar said, “No one can block the path of our young people, our young people deserve everything.”

Referring to the telephone conversation he had with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres last night, President Ersin Tatar noted that great injustices were committed against the Turkish Cypriots and that he told Guterres about this.

Pointing out that Turkish Cypriots are observer members of the Organization of Turkish States, President Tatar reminded that Turkish Cypriots became members in Samarkand a year ago, with the great efforts of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Emphasizing that intense efforts are being made to close all the doors opened to the Turkish Cypriots, President Tatar said, “Such good developments are important to us in order to pave the way for young people and to promise a future for young people in the TRNC, in this geography, and in the Turkish state in a critical region such as the Eastern Mediterranean, where we have to take firm steps towards the future.” “It gives hope,” he said.

Pointing out the importance of providing such new opportunities to the Turkish people and youth, who are exposed to all kinds of injustice under isolation, President Tatar said that young people will be able to provide great services to their country in the future with the opportunities given to them, and that many talents, Aziz Sancars, can be raised from here.

Emphasizing that the Turkish Cypriot people were able to survive and establish their own state despite all the pressure and oppression, President Tatar said, “There is youth, struggle, love, success and the heart to look to the future with hope. We are all one heart. The youth of the Turkish Cypriot people, an inseparable part of the great nation, was at Teknofest and will be at Teknofest from now on. We are also waiting for Teknofest here. “We hope that Bilim Nicosia will be beneficial,” he said.

After President Ersin Tatar’s speech, Bilim Nicosia was opened with a mass ribbon cutting.

After the opening, Bilim Nicosia’s workshops were also visited.

Science in Nicosia, a project of the Cyprus Science and Intelligence Foundation established in 2022; Mathematics workshop, astronomy, space and aviation workshop, design workshop, agriculture workshop, natural sciences workshop, entrepreneurship workshop, try-and-do workshop will provide free services.
