Recently, Santander Mexico signed the first Green Mortgage to a family who purchased an EDGE Advanced certified home in the development Montalto Residential of Twentylocated in the municipality of Apodaca, Nuevo León.
Santander launched the Green Mortgage last July, the first bank credit product in the country that rewards those who purchase sustainable homes. This scheme offers preferential conditions, such as a lower interest rate, which can be up to 8.85%; discount on appraisal payment, and also has no opening fee.
The main requirement to access the Green Mortgage is that the home you wish to acquire must have some certification that guarantees its sustainable construction, such as EDGE or LEED.
It is worth mentioning that, currently, Montalto Residential It has 200 homes with certification EDGE Advanced, where energy savings can reach up to 40%, and up to 78% better performance in energy embodied in materials; In addition, it is the only residential complex in Apodaca that includes solar panels in all homes.
