BENI – Forty ex-combatants of the 150 kept at the Mambango site in Beni in North Kivu have just returned to their respective communities this Tuesday, November 7, 2023. This reintegration was preceded by a dialogue led by the facilitators of the P-DDRCS branch of BENI within the return zones of these ex-combatants who have exhausted the Disarmament and Demobilization process.

The 40 ex-combatants spent more than five months at the Mambango site, more or less 8 kilometers from downtown Beni. They came from several groups active in the area. Maître Omar Kavota, branch head of the Disarmament, Demobilization, Recovery and Stabilization Program, in Beni reassures that everything has been done so that these ex-combatants can earn their living within society.

According to the same source, these ex-combatants were educated in citizenship and made aware of human rights, peace and good manners. Sessions that will continue even within the community.

An opportunity for him to ask society to welcome them because they are already harmless.
