Luz Larenn, author of the trilogy Á(r)mame, Réplicas and Claroscuro, returns to the thriller with a new independent novel in which she once again deploys a captivating narrative.

“Ten days to not die” has 13 chapters. The first 12 take place in 11 days, and the last, 10 years after those events. The story begins on the 10th, when Harper Sloan – the protagonist – decides to record a message for her family in the event that she dies. From there the text goes back to day 1.

“Hello, my name is Harper Sloan. This will be difficult, so I’ll just say it. If you are seeing this, it means that I died today.” Harper, 22, studies Journalism in college. After a comment in a chat on the university forum, she decides to check her profile on the internet. There she discovers a newspaper article – postdated 10 days later – in which, with a photo and everything, her own murder is announced.

Since then, he begins to receive a series of threatening objects without a return address. Puzzled and not knowing who to ask for help, she decides to make a list of the people she has hurt throughout her life. She even contacts Peter Crawling, the journalist who supposedly wrote the note but who denies authoring it. Harper’s past haunts her in unexpected ways and pushes her to actions that will reveal secrets about herself and the people she thought she knew most.

Told from the voice of the protagonist (Harper Sloan) and also from the points of view of five other characters, the story is put together through different angles. Luz Larenn’s new novel, which like her trilogy is published by Editorial El Ateneo, builds a plot that gives no respite.

About the author

Luz Larenn became a published writer with Á(r)mame (2020), just fifteen days before the pandemic, but the novel found a way to meet its readers. So much so that the sequel, Replicas (2021), soon arrived. Shortly after, Luz changed her life radically when she decided to move to the outskirts of the city of Buenos Aires. There she concluded the saga with Claroscuro (2022), always with the Editorial El Ateneo seal. Ten days to not die (2023) is her most recent work. With this unitary novel, outside of the trilogy, she takes another step in her career. More information at www.10diasparanomorir.com.ar
