You might think women are privileged. Don’t they outclass men in terms of life expectancy by showing six years more than men? But longevity does not necessarily mean good health. And, when we look at life expectancy without disability, the gap between the sexes narrows considerably: 64.4 years for men and 65.9 for women. A relative underperformance which cannot be explained by a particular biological constitution, contrary to what old clichés have long suggested.
