The Motorcycle World Championship is preparing to say goodbye to one of the most charismatic Spanish mechanics of recent times. Guille Carrillo will leave the Moto2 paddock at the end of the Valencian Community Grand Prix after 14 non-stop years of working on what he liked most, accompanying more than a dozen drivers on their journey in the championship.

The frenetic activity of the last campaign has been one more reason for ELF mechanic Marc VDS to have decided to put an end to his World Cup career. Now, with his eyes set on a promising future, his priorities are different and he has not hesitated to admit that he needs “stop wandering around the world for so long.”

In an emotional thread on the social network X (former Twitter), the Catalan coach wanted to review his career, remembering that young teenager who in 2005full of motivation, began his professional career with the legendary Monlau school, and a year later began working on what he was most passionate about.

His arrival at the motorcycle World Championship was five years later, in 2010, landing in the ranks of AJO Motorsport, but It was not until 2014 when he began to reap his greatest successes with the help of Álex Márquezwith whom he first won the Moto3 title and then, in 2019, the Moto2 title.

Living around the world year after year has been hard for one of the paddock’s most beloved mechanics, who pointed out that “This job has given me countless joys and unforgettable professional moments. At the same time, it has deprived me of many moments with family and friends.”

His goal now lies in another of his most important personal projects, and he assures who wants to dedicate all the time he hasn’t been able to before to his family. To do this, he will continue working close to home, beginning a new stage full of enthusiasm and new professional goals.
