DIG/ The Minister of Economy and Participations, Mays Mouissi, had, on November 2, 2023, an important working session with a delegation from the timber sector led by Jaffret Stéphane, General Director of Rougier Gabon.
This meeting follows the one that industrialists in this sector had with the task force responsible for domestic debt.
Forestry stakeholders presented to the member of the Transition government the difficult situation prevailing in their activities, which if it persists, will lead to a wave of layoffs.
For this, they are seeking support from the authorities.
While recognizing the importance of forestry activity in the national economy, Minister Mouissi invited operators to establish a collective roadmap, a clear inventory of the situation in the sector and possible solutions, with a view to better consideration by the highest authorities.
