The German concern Volkswagen has suspended the production of four models of electric vehicles due to a shortage of electric engines. About it reported MarketWatch publication with reference to the company’s statement.

Production of the Audi Q4 Sportback E-tron, Audi Q4 E-tron, Volkswagen ID.4 and Volkswagen ID.5 has been suspended. It is clarified that production has been stopped for three weeks.

In the third quarter of 2023, the Volkswagen Group increased its profit after tax to 4.35 billion euros (2.14 billion euros for the same period in 2022). Quarterly revenue, as stated in the group’s press release, increased by 12% to 78.85 billion euros, operating profit excluding one-time factors – by 15% to 4.89 billion euros, operating profit margin – to 6.2% from 6 %.

In May, the German concern announced that the company had sold its stake in Volkswagen Group Rus to the Russian legal entity Art-Finance LLC, which owns the dealer “Avilon” The latter also received Volkswagen-owned companies Volkswagen Components and Services, Scania Insurance, Scania Finance, and Scania Leasing. As Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov clarified, the deal to sell the plant did not include a buyback option.

On September 26, it was reported that the American concern Ford had suspended construction of a plant for the production of batteries for electric cars in Marshall, Michigan. It was planned to invest about $3.5 billion in the enterprise. In the summer, Ford published financial results for the second quarter of 2023, according to which the loss in the electric vehicle segment for the entire year could reach $4.5 billion.
