The Prefect of Mali, Monson Sangala Camara

In a press release from the president of the junta read on state media on Wednesday evening, several military officers, particularly from the class of 1983, were called upon to assert their right to retirement.

Reached by telephone, this Thursday the justice of the peace of Mali provided some details.
“As you know, Mr. Prefect was being prosecuted for alleged misappropriation of public funds and corruption, we opened a judicial investigation which made it possible to place him under judicial control…”

Retirement is not a cause for exemption from legal proceedings, indicated the magistrate who considers that the investigating judge is within the deadline and the investigations are continuing.

Note that Colonel Manson Sangala Camara is at odds with several citizens of the prefecture of Mali and community leaders who have taken him to court where he finds himself with more than ten charges including this case of embezzlement and corruption in which, for example, Abdoulaye Karim Diallo, mayor of the CR of Madina Wora, had heard as a witness.
