Humane, a startup founded by former Apple employees, presented AI Pin is a device that is positioned as an alternative to the classic smartphone.
The new product is a module with a magnetic mount that can be installed on clothing. The accessory does not have a display, since all interaction with the AI Pin is carried out through voice commands, the touch panel on the device body, as well as gestures, which are read by the built-in camera and several sensors. A projector is provided that can display information on various surfaces.
The device runs on the CosmOS operating system and a special AI Mic program, which connects AI Pin to Microsoft and OpenAI artificial intelligence models. It is promised that the new accessory is completely autonomous and does not require synchronization with smartphones.
Technical characteristics of AI Pin are not named. We only know that the new product is powered by a Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, and to use the accessory you will need a monthly subscription. For $24 per month, the user will receive an eSIM from the T-Mobile operator, cloud storage and access to artificial intelligence models. The AI Pin itself will cost $699 – accepting orders for the device will be open from November 16, 2023, and deliveries to customers should begin in 2024.
