Wiesbaden – By installing a modern pellet heating system, CO2 emissions can be sustainably reduced. That’s why homeowners can receive high subsidies from BAFA (Federal Office of Economics and Export Control) for installation. The federal government promotes heating based on renewable energies. But what if the funding doesn’t come?
Offset printer Oliver (55) and his wife Sandra Kallenbach (53), employees in a hospital from Desloch (Rhineland-Palatinate), also want to benefit from the funding. In August 2022, they will exchange their old oil heating system for a modern pellet heating system from the Guntamatic Biostar 24 brand. For this they will pay 37,722.32 euros.
Sandra Kallenbach: “We received funding for our new heating approved in February 2022. After the installation in August 2022, our heating engineer submitted the application to the authorities with all the information about the heating and the invoice for 37,722.32 euros, which we had already paid in full.”

The Kallenbach family has owned a two-family house for decades, in which they share a total of 240 square meters with their parents. For the last 30 years, a Buderus oil heater has kept both families warm.
Kallenbach: “The old heating never let us down. But we were happy that we could switch to renewable energies with the support of the federal government.”
But even after a year, the funding has not yet arrived in the family’s account.
Kallenbach: “We expect over 16,000 euros, but nothing arrives. Every time I call I am told to be patient. Can BILD help us?”
New heating is paid for, subsidy money is not!
BILD asks BAFA why it is taking so long to pay out.

The heating engineer proved that another eligible boiler from the same manufacturer was installed. The BAFA was then able to arrange a payment of €17,681.00 to Mr. Kallenbach. The grant will be received in the Kallenbach family’s specified account within the next 2 weeks.
Unfortunately, there was a delay in processing the objection as only a specially trained team can carry out the processing. In the meantime, BAFA has taken various measures to further reduce the processing times for applications.”
