The Honorable Deliberative Council (HCD) held the third itinerant session of 2023. On this occasion, the plenary session was held at the SUM Vilma Jara de Teijeiro in the 17 de Agosto neighborhood.

In this framework, the president of the HCD Alfredo Vallejos welcomed the residents and explained the HCD’s work methodology, highlighting the importance of reaching the different neighborhoods of the city.

With the participation of 15 councilors, a significant number of communications were approved, the vast majority linked to the concerns and demands raised at the preparatory meeting by the inhabitants of this part of the city. Thus, the Municipal Executive Department (DEM) was requested to replace and repair tiles, recover the Daniel Artaza square (located at the intersection of El Trébol and Artaza), install urban signage and increase the presence of traffic inspectors.

Also required was the unclogging of drains, the extension of gravel, eradication of garbage dumps, street maintenance, installation, arrangement and maintenance of LED light fixtures.

Regarding the projects that took parliamentary status on the occasion, the extension of the Intervention of the Municipal Loan Fund stands out for a period of 180 more days, and the 2022 financial statements of the organization, sent to the Legislation and Finance commissions , respectively.

In addition, the initiative to create within the jurisdiction of the Municipality the “Preparatory Table for the 2026 Concession of Public Passenger Transport”, will be analyzed by the Works, Security and Legislation commissions. The table will be made up of two representatives from the Municipal Executive Department, two from the Deliberative Council and the Neighborhood Ombudsman.
In the recitals, it is detailed that its function will be focused on the collection of information to improve urban public passenger transport, in view of the expiration of the current concessions and the beginning of a new bidding and awarding process, in order to provide the State Municipal of suitable elements to improve the processes related to the service.

Meanwhile, the project to establish the Comprehensive Primary Health Care Program for victims of gender violence (referred to Health, Security and Legislation), provides for the creation of the Primary Health Care Center for Victims of Violence in the area of the Municipality of Corrientes. It also provides for the activation of specific protocols for early detection and care of all types and forms of violence, which specify the procedure to follow.

On the other hand, the title of Illustrious Citizen was awarded to Elsa Elena “Chela” Gómez Morilla, multi-award-winning plastic artist, professor of Painting and Art History, trainer of new artists, tireless disseminator of art. This is a recognition of her caring spirit, outstanding career spanning more than 70 years, and her unwavering artistic vocation (more than 1,400 oil paintings and watercolors exhibited in hundreds of exhibitions around the world).

At the same time, the ordinance was passed to install or complement signage, create sites or murals, and diagram pictograms, with the alphabet and codes in sign language, aimed at the deaf community and the community in general, for informative, interactive and didactic. The objective is to make sign language visible for the training of new generations, promoting greater equality and equity within our society.

Regarding the statements, the title of Young Exemplary was awarded to the students Jesús Escubillas, Rafael Hermoza Ponce, Lucas Cañete and Santiago Conde Pomar, for their participation in the national instances of the Mathematics Olympiads. For his part, the cyclist Ramón “Moncho” Escalante, and the pastor Luis Alberto Pluis (post mortem) receive the title of Merit to the Citizen.
