Linda Dahl Wins Pastry Chef of the Year Competition with “Old School” Creations

The pastry world was abuzz with excitement as Linda Dahl took home the title of Pastry Chef of the Year in the recent competition with a “old school” theme. The competition consisted of three different parts, with the four finalists tasked with creating four cakes, twelve éclairs, and ten confections within a strict time frame of seven hours.

Dahl’s entry, featuring flavors such as blackcurrants, gooseberries, apples, and punch, captured the attention of the jury and was hailed as “culinary masterpieces.” The judges were particularly impressed by her unique precision, respect for raw materials, and ability to elevate pure, balanced flavors with outstanding textures.

“The winner’s work is characterized by a unique precision, great respect for raw materials, and an ability to elevate and combine pure, balanced flavors with outstanding textures. Through the pastries flows a strong passion and a deep understanding of the core of the pastry profession – a true inspiration and a worthy winner,” the judges announced.

In a comment following her win, Dahl expressed her excitement about being named Pastry Chef of the Year and emphasized the importance of her tastes and craftsmanship in securing the gold. “Now I am incredibly looking forward to wearing the title of pastry chef of the year in 2023,” she said.

Interestingly, this was Dahl’s first time participating in the competition, even though she works as a pastry chef at Operakällaren in Stockholm during the week. Following Dahl, Hampus Fors from Gothenburg secured the second-place spot, while Montadar Kanbar from Järfälla came in third.

Dahl’s victory has solidified her position as a rising star in the pastry world, and she is sure to continue making waves with her innovative creations. Congratulations to Linda Dahl on this well-deserved win!
